Core Duties/Responsibilities

The Sr. Client Finance Associate (CFA) is responsible for driving financial and operational coordination across a specific line of business and/or client group within the agency. The CFA will have end–to-end responsibility for all financial and accounting activities for their assigned client(s). These activities are focused upon but are not limited to reporting, billing, job estimating and monitoring, revenue accounting, billing coordination and other internal agency processes. The CFA is a commercial partner with Account Managers and Producers to ensure a strong comprehension of agency process in relation to client requirements and overall agency guidelines.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience


  • Client-Facing Reporting and Service
    • Primary point of contact for all financial issues with Client
    • Manage all client reporting including
      • Monthly burn to Estimate
      • Client accruals, if required
      • Support formal business updates as required, normally quarterly
      • Clear and detailed communications with Account Managers & Producers regarding the status of our work
    • With support from Agency Central Services Group
      • Client PO’s and billing
      • Proper job set-up and mapping
      • Creation detailed estimates for all project work
      • Oversee all OOP projects and billed costs
    • With Support of the Client Finance Director:
      • Accurate forecasting of revenue
      • Ensure proper hourly and project rates for all services
    • Manage cost and process controls as required by the client(s)


  • Internal Agency and Finance Control
    • Develop consistent campaign estimates based on rate & cost structure as developed by the Client Finance Teams
    • Project/job Level Burn Reporting to
    • Validate job accuracy and proper burn
    • Test profitability and contract compliance
    • Work with account teams to resolve variances and problems
    • Reviewing & validating Finance documentation –PO, PE, approvals, etc.
    • Approve and assign client coding and job numbers ensuring proper mapping and status
    • Conduct regular Burn, billing and revenue recognition meetings with key Account/Production team members
    • Client and intercompany billing as required
    • Job jacket maintenance and other filing requirements
    • Follow proper job closing and absorb procedures
    • AP Invoice coordination against estimate OOP costs



  • Absolute self-starter who must demonstrate team leadership and the ability to take initiative
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting Preferred)
  • 5 years related experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Solid skills in basic accounting systems
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • SAP experience a strong plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting concepts including billing, revenue, and reconciliations
  • Must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and able to communicate effectively
  • This professional will be an effective negotiator, facilitator and will possess strong interpersonal skills
  • He/she will possess the ability to interact effectively at all levels, with a variety of people, including end users, internal project team members, vendors, & consultants
