Core Duties/Responsibilities

The Senior Account Executive develops and maintains client relationships, working with the client to ensure successful execution and delivery of agency work.

 

Key Accountabilities:                    

Client Management and Strategic Leadership

  • Strives to become agency expert on client business, client category/competitors, and client organizational dynamics
  • Secures, interprets and represents client point-of-view and input
  • Develops and maintains client status reports
  • Writes contact reports from client meetings
  • Initiates, presents, and completes value-added projects with support from manager     
  • Externally presents basic information verbally and in writing
  • Evaluates creative work against objective and creative brief and provides feedback for revisions as needed
  • Informs project or strategic briefs based on understanding of client business/marketing objectives and project deliverables
  • Maintains and grows relationships with day-to-day clients and their supervisors

 

Financial Management

  • Understands project financial processes and partners with Project Management, to ensure completion of write-off forms, opening jobs, and creating estimates and purchase orders
  • Provides input for scoping specific projects
  • Secures client approval of agency estimates
  • Partners with project management to monitor the health of projects and alert supervisors and clients of any risks
  • Updates forecast and manages financials proactively. Keeps manager and client updated on financials regularly
  • Participates in tracking budget details and invoicing as needed by account
  • Secures client approval of production estimates and tracks client budgets

 

Agency Management

  • Active participant in positive agency culture. Sets tone for collaborative and respectful intra-agency working relationships
  • Understands and uses agency processes
  • Functions as a key part of the team, ensuring that all agency team members have the client information necessary to develop great work
  • Contributes to and helps craft agency POVs
  • Partners with Project Management to ensure that necessary and important processes are followed
  • Supports team as directed by supervisor
  • Assists with training and development of AAEs and AEs
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience Requirements                            

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of related experience required with established track record including experience working autonomously (requirement for external candidates)
  • Demonstrated skills in presenting information both verbally and in writing
  • Theoretical understanding of marketing and advertising
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Understanding of client organizational dynamics
  • Problem-solving skills and negotiation skills to interact with other departments and clients
  • Established financial skills and ability to drive financial process
  • Research skills including category assessment and conclusions without guidance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Word, and Excel; basic PPT skills

 

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel                         

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Some travel
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
